The Town and Village of Schoharie Need Your Feedback
We are teaming up to present more than $30,000,000 worth of strategic and eco-friendly investments that may transform the Town and Village targeted areas. Project concepts will draw from the Town and Village Joint Comprehensive Plan, the State and National Historic Registry Designation 2019, Waterfront Recreation Asset Plan 2016, Long-Term Recovery Plan 2014, New York Rising 2014, Healthy Streets Concepts 2013, Central Bridge Hamlet Plan, and Village Design Standards 2001 and more! Welcome to the Village of Schoharie. Ours is a cozy, quaint village nestled in the rolling foothills of the Catskill Mountains and the cascading valleys of the Schoharie Creek region. Our residents enjoy the village’s warm and nurturing community, as well as year-round outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, spelunking, and skiing. While Schoharie may be rich in rustic rural charm, its advantageous location only 30 minutes from Albany means the luxuries and amenities of city life are never out of reach.

Through the verdant and fertile valley flow the waters of the Schoharie Creek that begins in the Catskills and flows north to meet the Mohawk River. The Creek travels a distance of 83 miles and has a watershed of 947 square miles. For centuries the Creek and its watershed have continued to bring fertile soil and life giving water to the generations of farmers in the valley.
